I got the new treat seat and it works fine on our kitchen table. Our table is a round glass table where the glass is about 1/2 inch thick -- maybe it works for us because the treat seat's securing mechanism has the rubbery grip on the top & bottom that holds the glass pretty well inbetween when tightened.
